METICS {3RD PRIORITY}-weren't born in Athens
-could not own land -could not become citizens -could work as an artesian or merchant -needed to have an Athenian sponsor |
CHILDREN {4TH PRIORITY}-if a boy was born they would put an olive wreath on the door to represent victory
-if a girl was born they would put wool to represent a homemaker -was a citizen if both parents were born in Athens -lived in female part of house until age 7 then boys went separate ways |
SLAVES {LEAST PRIORITY}-were owned privately or by the city-state
-were bought and sold in the agora -could not become citizens - |
